As someone who just walked out of the theater I would like to say that sex jokes are not the same as rape jokes and having seen the movie 45 second ago. There was not a single rape joke in the entire film.

There were how ever many many sex jokes.

They are not the same thing

There was also people getting their heads blown off, people being dismembered, and scenes of torture, but no, watch out for them jokes. They’ll get ya.

The fundamental problem with the Margo character, besides being a classic Manic Pixie Dream Girl, is the highly toxic male POV trope of being “forever changed” by “this one special girl” when in reality every relationship you ever have changes you forever and some brief summer teen romance has WAY more chances to fuck you up with toxic nostalgia for the rest of your life than it does to provide any goddamn enlightenment.
